What is buttermilk?
Buttermilk was the milk that remained after cream was churned to make butter. This is a low fat milk. This creates a slightly thick milk and gives a rich, tangy flavour to scones, pancakes, muffin and cakes.
600ml
RED VELVET CAKE
A (bahan untuk diayak bersama)
250g cake flour1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp garam
2 tsp koko powder
B:
240 ml buttermilk
2 tbsp pewarna merah - dicampur ke dalam buttermilk
C:
113g butter
300g gula castor
2 biji telur gred A
1 tsp vanila
D:
1 tsp cuka
1 tsp baking soda
Method
1. Pukul butter selama 2 minit.
2. Masuk gula castor, pukul lagi 3 minit.
3. Masuk telur sebiji sebiji.
4. Masuk vanila
5. Masukkan A - tepung dan buttermilk berselang seli. Mulakan dengan tepung, akhiri juga dengan tepung.
6. Dalam bekas kecil, curahkan cuka ke atas baking soda (bahan D). Habis saja buih, terus curahkan ke dalam batter.
7. Masukkan ke dalam 3 biji loyang 9". Bakar pada suhu 175g selama 30 minit
